Moving on into July with my photo-a-day project. Who knows what visual surprises await me.

It's encouraging to hear that the bald eagle is no longer on the endangered species list, being an icon of American liberty and strength. I captured this one at an afternoon trip to the Minnesota Zoo, where I swear we forfeited our first-born's college tuition for the entry fee. Adult admission was $12.00 each (so there's $24 right there) plus a $5.00 parking fee, to park in the boondocks section of a lot that looked like it had given way to the wild, with grass shoots and weeds coming up from every which way. [If you're going to charge someone for parking, be sure that parking lot is well kept.]
But anyway, it's been about six years or so since we've been to the MN Zoo and they've got a few new additions since I've been there last. Worth the $29.00 we shelled out? Eh, maybe not. Alright...I confess...I did not take any photos today. But that's okay, this was going to be a photo of the day back on June 29th until I remembered that the Taste of Minnesota was going on and then captured that photo of Mickey's Diner on the way back to my car.
So here's a salute to one of the older fire stations in the Saint Paul area in the heart of Downtown Saint Paul. Thanks for all you do.
